Lattanzio KIBS is the evaluating entity for humanitarian actions undertaken by UNICEF Zimbabwe during the 2020-2021 emergency period
The emergency scenario in Zimbabwe
UNICEF, the Government of Zimbabwe, and key stakeholders engaged Lattanzio KIBS to conduct an independent evaluation of the actions undertaken by UNICEF Zimbabwe, in close collaboration with the Government and other partners including NGOs and UN agencies, during the Covid-19 health emergency during the 2020-2021 period.
While UNICEF aimed to strengthen the existing humanitarian system on multiple levels; it also supported the provision of basic services, including water, sanitation, education, social and child protection.
Lattanzio KIBS’ contribution
In this context, Lattanzio KIBS carries out the independent evaluation to understand the scope of the entity's actions during the 2020-2021 humanitarian emergency across the country.
In addition, it is remarkable source of learning: not only is Lattanzio KIBS able to identify lessons learned, but it also draws useful information to understand the actions already in place with respect to UNICEF's new Country Program, with a view to improving and strengthening capacity to manage similar situations in the future.
1 Evaluator, 5 Specific Objectives
In line with these approaches, Lattanzio KIBS pursues 5 specific objectives:

- recognize good practices and lessons learned
- provide recommendations for improving synergies among stakeholders
- assess the adoption of 'equity' and 'gender' principles at all stages, including the inclusion of vulnerable groups
