The General Directorate for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs entrusts Lattanzio KIBS with the evaluation of the ILDEA II project
The ILDEA II project is the second phase of the Programme ‘Local Development Initiatives in Egypt with the Participation of Egyptians Living Abroad’ between February 2019 and December 2021, funded by the Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and implemented by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). The programme aims to support the Egyptian government in consolidating efforts to involve Egyptian expatriates in the country's development.

Lattanzio KIBS is in charge of assessing the results achieved by the project in terms of social, cultural and economic integration, also considering the dimensions of respect for human rights, equity and gender equality. It also focuses on the use of available resources and the sustainability of the benefits achieved.
Overall, the evaluation was conducted in three phases: the first, of documentary context analysis; the second, of data collection and analysis in Egypt and Italy, through interviews and focus groups; the third, of drafting the final evaluation report and presenting the results achieved.
Project Impact
The evaluation focuses on the results achieved by the project, both to ensure transparency and accountability and to highlight lessons learnt and good practices, as well as to provide useful recommendations for future similar projects. Furthermore, general recommendations for improving the programming and management of development cooperation interventions can be provided on the basis of the evaluation results.
