Lattanzio KIBS joins UNICEF in protecting children in Bosnia-Herzegovina within the 2019-23 National Strategic Plan

The government institutions of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the government institutions of Republika Srpska, the Brcko District Government, and UNICEF have undertaken a path of significant interventions to strengthen the Early Children Development (ECD) and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program in Bosnia-Herzegovina. These interventions also contribute to the fulfillment of the recommendations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

More details

Lattanzio KIBS conducts the evaluation on the outcomes of ECD-ECI interventions in the areas of health, education, social welfare, and child protection over a time frame from 2018 to 2022.

The evaluation consists of three phases. The initial phase is characterized by conducting briefings and conducting remote interviews with key stakeholders. The data collection part includes interviews with key informants in the country, organization of focus groups, and mission in some municipalities in the territory.

The reporting phase takes the form of producing three main documents: an initial report, a final evaluation report, and a presentation summarizing the content of the final report.

Overall, the goal of the evaluation is to strengthen the ECD-ECI program in Bosnia and Herzegovina, structuring a reflection on the conditions of financial sustainability, and assessing the responsiveness of the Program to the rights and needs of children and families.

Project impact

The evaluation on ECD-ECI Programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina is conducted in the third year of implementation of the UNICEF Country Program 2021-2025. The return of the results obtained from the team's activities will have a decisive impact in identifying areas of intervention that require more attention until the conclusion of the Program with the aim of working for the improvement of children's living conditions.
