Lattanzio KIBS has been commissioned by MAECI to organise three days of work to promote Italian culture and language abroad and foster dialogue, innovation and growth

The opening event with special guests

The States-General of Cultural Diplomacy, scheduled to take place in Florence from 9 to 11 October, kicks off today with the Directors of the Italian Cultural Institutes discussing the promotion of Italian culture and language abroad with both public and private organisations.

Lattanzio KIBS was entrusted with the prestigious task of organising and managing the conference on a turnkey basis as part of the cultural diplomacy strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).

The opening event of the three-day event, organised in the splendid setting of the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, saw the institutional greetings of Dario Nardella, Mayor of Florence; the address speech by the Hon. Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; and the greetings of Ministers Anna Maria Bernini, Minister of University and Research, Daniela Santanchè, Minister of Tourism, Paola Frassinetti, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Education and Merit, Gianmarco Mazzi, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Culture.

The meeting between people, art and Italian culture 

The focus of the Conference of the Directors of the Italian Cultural Institutes is the support of cultural diplomacy as an instrument of affirmation of the national interest, with closed-door sessions to improve efficiency in the management of the Italian Cultural Institutes, as an integral part of the Italian foreign diplomatic-consular network and a meeting point and dialogue for intellectuals, artists and cultural partners.

Specifically, the work focuses on the theme of the Cultural Institutes as a network of people and resources, artistic and cultural production for the wealth of the country and the importance of a cultural diplomacy capable of promoting Italian culture and language abroad, the role of social media in the communication and enhancement of culture abroad.
