Impact evaluation of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development interventions to support SMEs

In 2013, the EBRD Board of Directors approved the creation of a Small Business Initiative, with the aim of strengthening its intervention through financial and operational support to some large companies, in order to create indirect value on the supply chains and therefore on the SMEs involved.

Lattanzio Monitoring & Evaluation works with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to assess the impact of these interventions on local SMEs.

Specifically, the company will be responsible for quantifying the spillover effects of four of these measures on SMEs involved in supply chains. In addition, on the basis of the four cases studied and the lessons learned, Lattanzio Monitoring & Evaluation will propose a more systematic methodology to determine the overall extent of the impact on SMEs of projects aimed at large enterprises.
