Lattanzio KIBS supports the Campania Region in its role as Independent Evaluator of the 2014-2022 Rural Development Programme. The 2026 Annual Evaluation Report, presented in Naples last week during the event "From the 2026 AER Towards the Ex-Post Report," provided an opportunity for discussion on the Ex-Post evaluation and the upcoming 2028-2034 programming period

What the Report tells us, beyond the numbers

The value of the evaluation work emerges above all in the in-depth analyses that enrich this year's Report: not mere snapshots of implementation status, but insights capable of guiding future decisions. The first in-depth analysis presents the positioning of Campania's farm clusters in terms of competitiveness, environmental sustainability, and ties to the local territory.

The second examines the causes behind the lapsing of funded interventions due to revocation or withdrawal, while the third looks at Campania's inner areas, highlighting the extent to which RDP measures have impacted the Region's most fragile and peripheral territories.

The event concluded with a discussion among representatives from various Italian regions on the role of independent evaluation in the implementation of rural development policies.

With "From the 2026 AER Towards the Ex-Post Report," we connected the annual report to a broader path forward, presenting our approach to ex-post evaluation and the role independent evaluation is set to play in the 2028-2034 programming period.
