Integrated funds for the knowledge ecosystem
The Autonomous Province of Bolzano integrates provincial funds, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) in a governance system that steers them towards coordinated, complementary interventions. In research and innovation, this approach avoids fragmentation and directs investments along the lines of the provincial smart specialisation strategy (RIS3), strengthening technology transfer and collaboration between research and business.
The fourth edition of "Sinergie di Fondo" is now online
Lattanzio KIBS supports the Province with strategic consulting within the technical assistance service to the Managing Authority of the ERDF 2021-2027 programme, from programming and implementation to monitoring and oversight, up to control and the accounting function. The report is a step in a biannual series launched in April 2025, whose first edition was devoted to sustainable mobility and the cycling route system.
An asset for the whole territory
In the 2022-2025 period, EUR 161.8 million were allocated to the South Tyrolean research and innovation system across provincial funds, the ERDF and the NRRP. With concrete cases, the report describes the contribution of each fund: the NRRP builds research networks and funds training and doctorates, while the ERDF funds applied research laboratories and infrastructure and supports collaboration between research and business. Among the success factors, public interventions designed to remain a permanent asset available to the territory's entire productive system.
