Lattanzio KIBS as Knowledge Partner: Preventive Innovation and Strategies to Reduce the Impact of Chronic Conditions

Data from the Observatory

On September 25, 2025, the Congress Center of the Turin Industrial Union hosted the second stage of the Silver Economy Network’s national Roadshow, titled “Road to Longevity: Innovative Strategies and Models of Prevention to Reduce the Impact of Chronic Conditions.”

The event placed preventive innovation at the heart of the discussion, highlighting it as a key driver in building sustainable longevity pathways, in response to a demographic scenario where 70% of the Italian adult population lives with at least one chronic disease.

Annachiara Annino, Head of the Lattanzio KIBS Research Center, presented the SEN Observatory data, underscoring the urgent need to develop integrated care models and community-based services capable of addressing both individual conditions and the complexity of multi-morbidity. The comparison between the national and international landscape guided reflection on three key factors: the centrality of non-communicable chronic diseases, the growing sensitivity towards e-health, and the importance of customer engagement.

At the core of the debate was a crucial question: can preventive innovation truly serve as a concrete strategy to reduce the burden of chronic diseases while strengthening the sustainability of health and economic systems?

The event proved to be a valuable platform for dialogue among businesses, institutions, professionals, and researchers, fostering the exchange of models and technologies for early monitoring, personalized care, and stronger integration between the public and private sectors.
