On 8 July, the Strategy presentation alongside Regione Lombardia
Turning resources into concrete benefits
Lattanzio KIBS continues to support Regione Lombardia in implementing the Inner Areas Strategies under the 2021-2027 programming cycle. This week saw the presentation event for the Area Strategy of the Oltrepò Mantovano Inner Area, a further stop on the institutional "Lombardia Autentica" tour, attended by the President of Regione Lombardia, Attilio Fontana, and the Regional Councillor for Local Authorities and Mountain Areas, Massimo Sertori.
The event offered an opportunity to show, through concrete initiatives already underway, how the Strategy is changing the lives of people living in these territories. As the President stated, it is a tool through which "Regione Lombardia confirms its attention to these territories, drivers of development and custodians of our cultural identity, which we intend to enhance through targeted policies, making them protagonists of the path of economic growth."
It is also a commitment that, as the Councillor emphasised, stems from a process of listening and shared planning with the local area: "The resources deployed will make it possible to carry out projects that strengthen proximity services, sustainable mobility, innovation, and the enhancement of natural and cultural heritage, creating the conditions to counter depopulation and foster new development opportunities."
Five stops across the Mantua area
Five significant locations took centre stage during the day (Ostiglia, Revere, Villa Poma, Nuvolato, Parco San Lorenzo), where the value of the Strategy is measured through its effects on as many key areas of community life: housing, smart communities, safety, culture, and the environment.
On the housing front, Ostiglia is undergoing the energy requalification of a public housing complex, an intervention that concretely improves living conditions for the most vulnerable segments of the population; meanwhile, at Palazzo Ducale in Revere, the project "Oltrepò Mantovano Smart Community: Smart Villages" was presented, aimed at promoting inclusive governance for responsible development and social cohesion. On the safety front, a new volunteer Fire Brigade station for the Destra Secchia area will be built in Villa Poma, in the Municipality of Borgo Mantovano, strengthening emergency response capacity across the entire territory.
On the culture and tourist appeal front, in Nuvolato, a hamlet of Quistello, the "Oltrepò Mantovano Sustainable Destination" project is transforming public buildings into a widespread network of guesthouses, bike repair workshops and an artist residency, generating new economic opportunities linked to slow tourism and creativity. On the environment and inclusion front, at Parco San Lorenzo in Pegognaga, enhancement works on natural areas are improving accessibility and hospitality, with particular attention to people with reduced mobility.
It is in this transition - from strategic vision to implemented action - that the added value of consultancy comes into play, placing specialised expertise at the service of social cohesion and the fight against depopulation, while also contributing to a model of territorial development that, area by area, strengthens the competitiveness of the entire national system.
