Lattanzio KIBS, together with UNDP and OSESGY, examines the role of Yemeni women in reconciliation processes

The Research and the Voices of the Protagonists

Since 2011, the role of women in Yemen has gone far beyond supporting their families: they have become active protagonists in local peace processes, fostering trust and social cohesion. To highlight and build on these experiences, UNDP Yemen and the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen (OSESGY) have entrusted Lattanzio KIBS with an in-depth study providing a comprehensive picture of women’s contribution to reconciliation.

The study spans six regions and combines interviews, focus groups, and the personal stories of ten women mediators. Through analysis, data, and storytelling, the project retraces the journeys, challenges, and achievements of women engaged in mediation, offering concrete recommendations to strengthen their role in future peace processes.
