In cooperation with the Municipality of Genoa, Lattanzio e Associati is organising a workshop entitled 'E-democracy: Italian and European experiences in comparison'

Workshop topics

The use of ICTs within participatory democracy processes is now recognised in Europe as an important element of social inclusion and modernisation of democratic institutions

In this context, institutional bodies feel the need to rationalise and strengthen processes of active citizen participation through the use of new interactive tools.

The aims of the initiative

The workshop aims to define a framework on the development of e-democracy in Italy, by comparing experiences of online services offered by PA to citizens (e-government) and of effective participation in decision-making processes (e-democracy).

Through the presence of direct witnesses, the comparison will be extended to significant experiences in other EU countries.

The initiative will be held in Genoa on Thursday 20 September 2007 at the Berio Library (Sala dei Chierici in via del Seminario, 16) starting at 9 a.m.
