Lattanzio KIBS produces e-learning modules about gender equality and women's empowerment

UN Women has tasked Lattanzio KIBS with developing learning modules for the "I Know Gender: An Introduction to Gender Equality" training course. This course was developed by UN Women's Training Center at the request of the Inter-Agency Network on Women and Gender Equality (IANWGE).

More details

Lattanzio KIBS designed the modules to develop and strengthen knowledge, understanding and awareness of basic concepts related to gender equality and women empowerment for UN staff at local, regional and national levels. Specifically, the team provided for the development of a specialized module dedicated to violence against women and three mandatory modules which must be completed in sequence:

  • Gender Concepts to Get Started
  • International Frameworks for Gender Equality
  • Promoting Gender Equality throughout the UN System.

After completion of the core modules, access to 16 optional thematic modules is available. To enable easier application of solutions to gender issues in real-world work contexts, the UN Women Training Center has provided the development of the "I Know Gender: How-To Series" learning pathway, structured in the following modules:

  • Gender Equality Markers
  • Gender Equality Markers - Coding definitions
  • Gender Equality and Sustainable Project Management
  • Mainstreaming gender in infrastructure
  • Mainstreaming gender in procurement

Project Impact

The addition of the additional modules by Lattanzio KIBS has enabled UN Women to enhance the course's training offerings, which has more than 100.000 students, thereby ensuring that staff employed by the Organization have the necessary tools to create an egalitarian work environment without gender inequality.
