Lattanzio KIBS supports the World Organisation for Animal Health in developing digital learning pathways to enhance the capabilities of veterinary services worldwide, within the framework of WOAH’s Global Learning Programme

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), an intergovernmental organisation committed to improving animal health and welfare globally, is renewing its training architecture through the creation of a universal digital platform designed for veterinary services. The aim is to expand the distance-learning offer, built on a Competency-Based Training Framework that defines learning domains, core competencies, and training objectives.

More details

Lattanzio KIBS designs and develops high-quality e-learning modules for professionals across the sector, promoting the adoption of harmonised standards and the dissemination of a One Health approach to the prevention and control of animal diseases. By integrating advanced methodologies and principles of accessibility, interactivity, and interoperability, the company oversees the entire process, covering the full lifecycle of the new digital training offer - from content design to international dissemination.

The project includes the development of e-learning modules dedicated to strategic areas such as health surveillance, wildlife trade, animal welfare, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). It also includes two specialised learning pathways - Outbreak Investigation and Principles of Surveillance - developed using resources from the Global Laboratory Leadership Programme (GLLP).

The intervention also includes an in-depth training needs assessment, with the definition of prerequisites tailored to the different target user profiles. To ensure global accessibility, all content has been translated and localised into French and Spanish.

The modules are integrated into WOAH’s Moodle platform (training.woah.org), developed in compliance with SCORM standards and optimised for full cross-platform compatibility. In parallel, a dedicated dissemination strategy is designed and implemented to promote the training offer and support its adoption globally. The e-learning platform has also been fully redesigned to enhance user experience and ensure that content is accessible to an increasingly diverse audience.

Project Impact

Lattanzio KIBS provides WOAH with a structured, multilingual, and competency-based training offer that strengthens intersectoral cooperation and promotes the principles of One Health. The project contributes to reinforcing the capacities of veterinary services and to building sustainable, accessible, and harmonised training systems at the international level.

A concrete step towards more effective governance of animal health, strengthening global preparedness to prevent, monitor, and respond to health emergencies.
