Lattanzio KIBS collaborates with UNFPA in the evaluation of the project "Sexual and Reproductive Health of Adolescents and Youth in Benin"

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the government of Benin have been working together for years to educate young people about sexuality through the project "Sexual and Reproductive Health of Adolescents and Youth in Benin". Lattanzio KIBS was commissioned to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the project.

More details

The project, part of the 9th cooperation program between the Government of Benin and UNFPA for 2019-2023, focused on the implementation of sexual and reproductive rights of adolescents and youth in Benin. The project involved young people in the age groups of 10-14, 15-19, and 20-24 in eleven municipalities in the country.

The evaluation of Lattanzio KIBS , which began in 2019, was conducted in the departments of Alibora and Atacora, in the North, and Atlantique, in the South of the country, ensuring a continuous and cross-sectional data collection.

Project Impact

The approach taken in the evaluation ensured a deep understanding of the project's impact in the target areas. In a context where youth sexuality education in Benin still faces many implementation difficulties, the evaluation helped identify best practices of the initiative and make recommendations to improve and strengthen the dissemination of sexual and reproductive health education among the young population.
