Lattanzio KIBS produces online health, border management and mobility training for the International Organization for Migration

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has commissioned Lattanzio KIBS to develop e-learning courses on the Health, Border and Mobility Management (HBMM) framework in English. Lattanzio KIBS also provided translation of the courses into Arabic, aiming to bridge capacity gaps between Arabic-speaking staff and external stakeholders in health, border management and mobility.

More details

The main focus for the development of the project was on prevention, detection and response to communicable diseases. The course’s objectives:

  • Ability of governments and communities to manage emergency mobility factors concerning public health.
  • Ability by affected populations to benefit from appropriate, inclusive and timely support.

To this end, Lattanzio supported IOM's Migration Health Division on two learning tracks aimed at understanding and applying the HBMM Framework, dealing with strengthening both the skills of the staff involved and the capacity of external stakeholders to organize activities regarding the project.

Project Impact

The course permits IOM to achieve the strategic goals of communicable disease prevention, detection and response. The structuring of the e-learning courses contributed to the creation of a Capacity Development Toolbox that IOM uses to assist nations involved in the program to achieve the goals set forth in the International Health Regulations (IHR).
