Sustainability and Costs, the Sentiment of Italians
Energy is a vital resource for the development and the well-being of a country. However, its management and costs represent an increasingly complex challenge. Lattanzio KIBS Observatory investigated Italians' relationship with energy, offering insights about their perceptions, fears and expectations.

What's the update on Renewable Energy Communities (CERs)?
This is the focus of the study presented at the ANPCI event, which shares the results of a survey aimed at understanding the motivations, expectations, and experiences of CER participants.
Central to this initiative is the role of municipal administrations in promoting change, sustainability, and the energy self-sufficiency of local areas.
The observatory data
According to our Observatory's analysis, 98% of Italians are aware of the rising in electricity and gas costs. This data highlights how the issue has become central in the public debate and in the concerns of households. Eight out of ten respondents, in fact, fear that rising energy prices could have a negative impact on household consumption, a concern that is even more pronounced in southern Italian regions.

The energy communities
Within this framework, the energy communities, and so all the members who cooperate to produce, consume, and manage energy through one or more local energy plants, might represent a concrete solution against the rising in electricity costs, and pollution caused by energy consumption.
Our Observatory's survey shows how Italians are particularly interested in energy communities. This interest has been especially recorded among women and the over 55s, for reasons relating not only to the reduction of electricity costs, but also to the need for a greater sense of belonging to a community and greater safety in the energy supply.
