Lattanzio KIBS supports Lombardy Region in a project to reinforce governance and cooperation under the EU Alpine Macro-Regional Strategy

Lombardy Region aims to enhance its role within the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP), promoted by the European Union to foster sustainable and competitive development across Alpine territories. To address the need for ongoing technical coordination and effective collaboration between institutional levels, the Region is investing in a 14-month project designed to strengthen the operational and strategic capacity of its technical support structure. The initiative will boost Lombardy’s contribution to thematic working groups and shared priorities within the strategy.

More details

The project provides technical and scientific support to the Policy Officer, responsible for both operational and strategic coordination. Key activities include participation in European and national meetings, preparation of technical and strategic documents, management of information flows and documentation, updates to digital platforms, and coordination with the leaders and co-leaders of the working groups on research and innovation, labour market, and energy.

Additional actions include capacity building, knowledge capitalisation, funding scouting and the design of joint initiatives. Lattanzio KIBS also supports the management of cross-cutting priorities and the integration of results into EU, national and regional funding programmes.

Project Impact

The initiative strengthens Lombardy Region’s coordination capacity and influence within the Alpine strategy, ensuring greater coherence and continuity across macro-regional activities. It contributes to improved multi-level governance by enhancing the integration of territorial policies with innovation, employment and energy priorities. At the same time, it promotes cooperation among the various actors involved and supports competitiveness and sustainability in the Alpine regions, fully aligned with the European Union’s cohesion objectives.
