Lattanzio KIBS supports UNICEF Dominican Republic in the evaluation of its Business Model, contributing to strategic reflection and to shaping the future direction of UNICEF’s work in the Dominican Republic, with a specific focus on children’s rights
In the Dominican Republic, strengthening children’s rights is a strategic priority for public institutions and international actors committed to sustainable development. Within this context, UNICEF Dominican Republic has launched a project aimed at assessing the relevance, effectiveness, coherence, and sustainability of the 2023-2026 Country Programme for the protection of children and adolescents, including those belonging to the most vulnerable communities.
The project responds to the need for robust and reliable evaluation tools capable of supporting informed decision-making, improving resource allocation, and strengthening the impact of policies and interventions on the ground.
More details
Lattanzio KIBS supports UNICEF Dominican Republic in assessing the relevance, effectiveness, coherence, and sustainability of the 2023-2026 Country Programme, implemented in the field of children’s rights, including health and nutrition, inclusive and quality education, protection from violence, social protection, and environmental sustainability, as well as the overall effectiveness of the programme.
The intervention focuses on the development of a solid methodological framework aligned with UNICEF international standards, including the design of tools for the collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data. Particular attention is given to data disaggregation by gender, age, and vulnerability status, ensuring an accurate and inclusive interpretation of results.
Lattanzio KIBS also contributes to the assessment of implementation strategies related to advocacy, strategic positioning, coordination, knowledge management, the humanitarian–development nexus, social and behavioural change, resource mobilisation, innovation, participation, and gender equality. Through this approach, Lattanzio KIBS evaluates the capacity of interventions to respond to the needs of beneficiary communities and to generate measurable and lasting change. The project further includes a review of existing monitoring and data collection mechanisms, with the aim of formulating operational and strategic recommendations and strengthening evidence-based decision-making processes, ultimately enhancing the overall quality of policies and actions implemented on the ground.
Project Impact
Lattanzio KIBS’s support strengthens UNICEF Dominican Republic’s capacity to guide its actions through robust, evidence-based analysis, fostering greater integration between strategic planning, programme implementation, and results evaluation. The adopted approach makes objectives and outcomes related to children’s rights, gender equality, and social inclusion clearer and more measurable, supporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement processes. The impact also lies in the identification of lessons learned and priority areas for more effective future programming, promoting targeted, sustainable interventions that are increasingly responsive to the needs of the most vulnerable communities in the Dominican context.
