Lattanzio KIBS supports UN Women in the mid-term evaluation of the SIWPSAN project, providing evidence to enhance the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Nepal

Following the adoption of UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 1820, Nepal has undertaken a long-term effort to integrate a gender perspective into peace and security processes. To consolidate the progress achieved and to strengthen the capacities of national institutions and civil society, UN Women launched the project Strengthening Implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Nepal (SIWPSAN)

More details

Lattanzio KIBS is responsible for conducting the mid-term evaluation, with the objective of measuring progress in the implementation of the WPS Agenda and identifying best practices for the programme’s next phase.

The assignment includes carrying out the SIWPSAN Mid-term Evaluation, aimed at generating concrete evidence on the results achieved to date and on the main challenges that remain. The evaluation examines the extent to which the gender perspective has been integrated into peace and security policies, assessing the capacity of local institutions and civil society organisations to promote the inclusion of women in decision-making processes.

In addition to standard deliverables (inception and final reports), the team prepares a series of presentations and a dissemination brief in both Nepali and English to foster understanding and facilitate the uptake of findings at the national level.

Project Impact

The evaluation provides a significant contribution to strengthening the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Nepal. The evidence collected supports public decision-making and helps improve implementation strategies for the National Action Plan, promoting broader female participation in peace processes and local governance. Through this work, Lattanzio KIBS reinforces collaboration between institutions and civil society, contributing to the dissemination of good practices and to the development of a more inclusive and gender-responsive governance system.
