An innovative analysis to identify territorial needs in the rural development program
The SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) is a well-established tool in strategic planning, used to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of a given context.
In this study, the authors propose an innovative approach called “Relational SWOT,” applied to the contextual evaluation of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Programme (RDP) of the Sardinia Region. This method integrates traditional SWOT analysis with a relational perspective, focusing on the interactions among local actors and territorial dynamics. The aim is to more accurately identify territorial needs more accurately, enhancing the effectiveness of rural development strategies.
Lattanzio KIBS contributed to this work by leveraging the experience of its professionals, supporting the application of the Relational SWOT methodology and facilitating the involvement of local stakeholders in the evaluation process.
