Lattanzio KIBS supports the NEPAD Agency in the joint evaluation of the NEPAD–Spain Fund, contributing to the strengthening of local institutional capacities and the promotion of women’s empowerment through the use of Copernicus satellite data

The NEPAD-Spain Fund was established to support initiatives aimed at advancing the economic and social empowerment of African women, promoting gender equality and strengthening local communities. The NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency launched an independent evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the funded projects and to guide future intervention strategies.

More details

The evaluation conducted by Lattanzio KIBS focuses on programmes supported by the NEPAD–Spain Fund across several African countries, with the objective of assessing the impact of women’s empowerment policies and improving the quality of data used to inform public decision-making.

By leveraging Copernicus technology - the European Earth Observation Programme - it is possible to systematically analyse territorial and socio-economic changes, monitoring the effectiveness of actions in key areas of sustainable development.

Lattanzio KIBS also contributes to the formulation of targeted strategies in inclusive growth and local governance, providing technical and methodological support to strengthen the institutional capacities of African partner organisations.

Project Impact

The evaluation provides strategic evidence to inform new regional policies oriented towards gender equality and sustainable development. The integration of satellite technology into monitoring processes enhances the accuracy and timeliness of analyses, enabling more informed and evidence-based policy decisions.

This intervention strengthens local institutions, increases the effectiveness of women’s empowerment policies, and promotes innovative use of scientific data to support African governance.
