First international conference of the GAPA project

Lattanzio e Associati will organize an international conference in Zagreb on the 4th of December 2012. The conference under the name “GAPA and the Protection of Citizens’ Interest: Novelties, Benefits, Challenges” aims at spreading knowledge among international stakeholders and Croatian citizens about the implementation of the General Administrative Procedures Act and the advantages it can bring to people.

The conference is part of the EU IPA 2008 project "Support to the Implementation of General Administration Procedure Act" a project funded by the European Union whose beneficiary is Croatian Ministry of Public Administration. The objective of the Project is to support the Republic of Croatia in further enhancement of the reliable, open, transparent and client-oriented public administration and in particular to ensure sustained institutional and professional capacities for efficient implementation of the new General Administrative Procedure Act (GAPA) at all levels of public administration, as well as to improve public awareness of citizens on issues related to GAPA.

The conference will be opened by Arsen Bauk, Minister of Public Administration in of the Republic of Croatia and H.E. Mr. Paul Vandoren, Head of the Delegation of European Union to the Republic of Croatia, and it will be dedicated to discussing benefits offered by the new GAPA to Croatian citizens and Croatian legislation. The conference will include panel discussions with eminent national and international experts, such as Ms Germana Panzironi, Chief of the Legal Office at the Italian Department of Public Administration. The experts will discuss GAPA in Croatia and tools that can greatly contribute to its successful implementation.
